No mall is truly complete without H&M; the Swedish
multi-national clothing company that has made its mark worldwide with clothing
for all ages from trendy staple pieces to cutting-edge designs which will make
you stand out from the crowd, all at a competitive price. SkyAvenue lifestyle
mall at Resorts World Genting is no exception. The store had its grand opening
on 5th October 2017 at noon to spectacular fanfare. Resorts World is no stranger to H&M with
an outlet previously opening in their Birmingham complex in 2015.
Soon after the mall opened, a huge line formed to receive
goodies offered by the brand which included a canvas tote bag, refreshments as
well as a RM50 gift voucher. Three lucky individuals walked away with a RM100,
RM200 and RM500 voucher respectively to equip their personal wardrobes with
trendsetting pieces during the lucky draw.
The staff of H&M then put on a spectacular dance set to
entertain and amuse the crowd to amazingly fabulous beats by artists such Beyoncé,
Christina Aguilera and Nicki Minaj. They were definitely a talented lot as
their moves were no joke. After the
ribbon was cut to rousing cheers from the waiting crowd, they entered the
sprawling store spread over two floors packed with the latest fall trends with
apparel for women, men, teenagers, kids as well as accessories, innerwear and
In H&M, it was an absolutely immersive world of fashion
there. There were a lot of metallics and solid colours, outfits that are strong
or subtle to suit your style will bring you from the office to the club. The
stunning collections absolutely spoke ‘Power, Glam and Sass’ that will make you
part of the in crowd whether you are in New York, Tokyo or Seoul. Eye-catching pieces were a silver shoulder bag
that would add a pop to a Little Black Dress as well as a wild pair of fire
engine red thigh high boots that would be perfect for to hit the club.
The extensive men’s section includes the latest autumn
pieces, timeless staples such as blazers as well as more casual beach wear. The
most sought after ranges that everyone headed for were of course, the
collaborations that H&M is known for with multi-award winning international
artists and red carpet fashion regulars. Justin Bieber’s The Stadium Tour
collection replaces The Purpose Tour collection that was so popular among
street style aficionados that it spawned knockoffs. Prices start at a cool
RM69.90 for a T-shirt to RM249.90 for a padded bomber jacket, all which are way
cheaper than what concert merchandise usually goes for. The Weeknd’s collection
is made up of more understated pieces. Although meant for men, as they say
there are no limits in fashion so ladies can wear them too! The gray sweatshirt
from the collection would be perfect to dress up with a collared shirt worn on
the inside or dress it down with a pair of ripped jeans.
While half of the floor is occupied by the men’s department,
the other half is especially for the little ones. With adorable dinosaur sweaters for boys and
glitter tulle skirts for girls, they’ll be spoilt for choice. There are also
collaboration pieces with Marvel, Elsa, Hello Kitty and My Little Pony that
will be hard to drag the kids away from!
