Resorts World Genting launches New membership Sky Cards

Resorts World Genting launches its all new membership Sky Cards

Highly rewarding benefits with free stays, meal vouchers, retail & entertainment discounts and beyond

           Sky Card Launch

The rewards programme for members of Resorts World Genting has been enhanced to make it bigger and better—and the focus this time is to provide greater value to members.

Part of the resort's transformation plan is to take its members to a whole new level of experience with the introduction of the new Sky Card program.  This means the old thematic card or Genting Rewards Cards will no longer be in use with the arrival of the Sky Card programme.

With this introduction, it means new tiers will be introduced to expand services and benefits to all its members. The new cards, named SkyClassic, SkySilver and SkyGold will be an Integrated Resort programme that will also allow members to enjoy a host of new experiences resort-wide.  This is a development unmatched in the industry—ensures members are able to earn points and redeem them everywhere at the resort. In terms of participating merchant outlets, nearly all the outlets and retailers at the resort are involved. Further Sky card members can expect members-only offers to come their way, including free stays, meal vouchers, and retail and entertainment discounts.

Most importantly, by having Genting Points (GP) as the sole currency under the new Sky Card membership program, it offers members easy and simple ways to earn and redeem, plus also to track their membership status.

This is how it works: with every 1GP earned, members will also earn 1 Tier Point. Tier Points give members a clear understanding of their position in the membership programme.

Another benefit of the TP system is its transparency: members now have a clear idea of their membership level—and they have control over their tier status. To upgrade from SkyClassic to SkySilver, a member only needs to earn 100 TP, and to reach SkyGold, they only need 500 TP.

“Every member begins with a SkyClassic card and upon reaching 100 Tier Points, they are upgraded to SkySilver. And when they touch 500 Tier Points, they will become SkyGold members,” says Clarence Tan, Vice President of Loyalty & Mass Marketing at Resorts World Genting. He adds that Tier Points expire annually.

“We embarked on an overall re-branding of our loyalty programme to provide a new image and further engagement with our customers. Members will certainly enjoy more benefits and upgraded experiences in view of their continuous support,” he says.

“We are optimistic that the new loyalty programme will complement the Genting Integrated Tourism Plan (GITP) which aims, among others, to transform the resort into an internationally acclaimed integrated resort that will witness some 30 million visitors per year by 2020.”

Improving customers’ experience at all levels

Over the last several years, Resorts World Genting has made tremendous progress in taking its business forward. It's all part of an ambitious plan to transform the resort and take it to a whole new level.

New offerings continued to be made, some of which are not available elsewhere in the region—and these include the opening of international brand names like Cafes Richard, Burger & Lobster and Motorino at the resort's first full-fledged lifestyle mall, SkyAvenue that has over 168 tenants when it is fully opened. Along with the new state-of-the-art cable car system, Awana Skyway, these developments are part of an exciting phase in the transformation of the resort—and reflect the resort's commitment to better serve its guests and members.

The new Sky cards are the resort's way of enhancing its membership programme—a programme that has served the resort for more than 50 years and is indeed the heart of its activity.

The resort hopes to reward members for their unwavering loyalty, acknowledging that as its business changes, so must its rewards programme. And with more unique and exciting products coming up, the resort believes it needs to extend its rewards service to a growing market. The answer, the resort believes, is an enhanced membership programme that provides more options and greater transparency in terms of tiers, and more tier accessibility.
