If you’ve landed at Resorts World Genting and are overwhelmed by the many choices, go for something familiar and comforting at Jom Makan Street food over at Level 4 of SkyAvenue. Located adjacent to the Malaysian Food Street, Jom Makan is a Pork-free outlet with many local delights to choose from.

It wouldn’t be Malaysian street food without the national dish that has swept the nation again recently: Nasi Lemak! At various fast food outlets, we’ve seen Nasi Lemak Burgers and even Nasi Lemak Ice Cream! However, sometimes it’s good to stay original with the dish that we all know and love. The stall also offers Nasi Lemak Kunyit with a variety of dishes to choose from.

A must try is definitely the Kampong Fried Rice which has an authentic taste, fried to perfection. Make sure to top it off with sambal for a spicy kick. They also have Fried Bee Hoon and Petai Fried Rice.

The place wouldn’t be complete without noodles! Go for Fried Kuey Teow, Mee Rojak or Curry Mee. Too finish off with a savoury favourite, get a six piece satay set with a choice of chicken, beef or mutton.

There’s even a map for all the stalls to make your choices easier! Why go for only one dish when you can have more? Finish off with a local dessert such as Ice Kacang or Cendol.

If you’re looking for some Indian flavour, look no further than the Sri Paandi  Curry House. Celebrated as being the place to get the best authentic South Indian cuisine from Karaikudi, Sri Paandi has been satisfying the appetites of their customers since 1977 for three generations with their legacy being continued by Kumar Alargasamy.

Serving a wide variety of dishes including banana leaf rice paired with gorgeously flavoured side dishes, naan, tosai and roti canai, the ingredients are all sourced in India to maintain the original flavor. Being the only Indian cuisine at the food destination, this is a gastronomic experience not to be missed.

Char Koay Teow, with beansprouts, sausages, fishcakes, spring onions and most importantly prawns added into the mix.

For a spicy taste of Malaysia, dig into the Curry Mee

For something to warm you up in the cool weather that isn’t too heavy, try the Fish Head Noodles

It’s a really full meal all in a bowl: the Claypot Chicken Rice is so good it’ll have you scraping the bottom.

Rather than the ordinary Nasi Lemak, another great choice is the Nasi Lemak Tumeric, served with a fried marinated chicken, fried anchovies, sambal, cucumbers and a half-boiled egg.

You’ll be hard pressed to find better fried rice anywhere

If you’re an early bird, take advantage of the ‘Jom Sarapan’ breakfast set for only RM11.30. Choose from three choices: Economy Nasi Lemak or Fried Noodles, Fried Kuey Teow or Roti Canai, Thosai or Chapati with Curry and Dhal. All sets come with Coffee or Tea.
