Tribute to 4 Heavenly Kings

Hong Kong's Four Heavenly Kings—its biggest male superstars, Aaron Kwok, Jacky Cheung, Leon Lai and Andy Lau—still figure prominently in our hearts and minds after all these years. They were icons of the 80s and 90s—the so-called Golden Era of Hong Kong cinema—and deservedly are still held in awe to this day.

Enter four impersonators who would do justice to the real Four Heavenly Kings—they are currently performing at Resorts World Genting, helping fans relive the heady days of old when Andy, Jacky, Aaron and Leon reigned supreme.

The 90-minute show held at Genting International Showroom till 9 September 2016 (9pm daily) is well-received and is seeing a good turnout.

Leon Lai by Dawn Lee Jia Jie

Here's a look at an evening with the four impersonators. When Leon Lai lookalike, Dawn Lee Jia Jie took to the stage in his white suit trousers, the fans cheered enthusiastically, showing their approval of his appearance. And when he sang classic songs like Yuan ni Jin Ye Bie Li Qu and the Cantonese version of Jing Ye Ni Hui Bu Hui Lai, the audience again roared its approval.

Aaron Kwok by Peng Zi Hao

Peng Zi Hao who impersonated Aaron Kwok was eqully well-received when he began singing and dancing. He not only looked like the real Aaron but made sure to be like him in terms of body language and facial expression. He delivered the hits, Dui Ni  Ai Bu Wan and Chang Zhe Ge.

Andy Lau by Hua Zai

Hua Zai who impersonated Andy Lau, was equally impressive, delivering the superstar's hits Yi Qi Zou Guo De Ri Zi and Du Zi Qu Tou Huan with passion and gusto. His attempt to mimic Andy's singing voice and style was applauded—it went down well with Andy Lau fans, no doubt.

Jacky Cheung by Wah D

Then there was Wah D impersonating Jacky Cheung—no less entertaining with his efforts in mimicking the real thing when he delivered songs like Lan Zhi Hua. Wah D is Chinese Hakka and has hopes of performing Hakka songs in the future. Looking at his performance here, it is easy to imagine him succeeding on that score.

The evening ended with the four singers belting out Ben Xiao Hai and You Qing Sui Yue. It marked a perfect ending to a wonderful evening—as confirmed by the loud applause they earned from the audience.

Make a date with the four lookalike impersonators at the Tribute to the 4 Heavenly Kings concert for a nostalgic trip to a bygone era when the four heavyweight superstars dominated the Hong Kong entertainment scene. You won't regret it.
