Awana Skyway Cable Car Guide

Fly like a bird. Take to the sky. Breathe deeply and enjoy the crisp mountain air. With the Awana Skyway Cable Car, you can enjoy all these!  The 2.8 kilometres ride up from Awana Skyway Station to Resorts World Genting is exhilarating and refreshing. You will spot the newly renovated Chin Swee Caves Temple along the way.. Above all, you will enjoy a panoramic view of the 130 million years old rainforest below! 

The trip itself takes only 10 minutes as the 99 standard gondolas—including 10 glass-floored ones—move at a top speed of six metres per second. The period of waiting and travelling on the cable car has been reduced drastically compared to the old cable car system. The gondolas transport approximately 3,000 passengers per hour. Passengers embark and disembark at the Awana Skyway Station and the SkyAvenue Station.


Below is a quick guide on using the Awana Skyway cable car:

Location: SkyAvenue Station

Operating Hours: 7am until midnight (seven days a week)


1. Getting there

Look out for the easy-to-spot signage that directs you to Awana Skyway Station. It is located at the new SkyAvenue Mall.


2. Ticket Counters

The ticket counters of SkyAvenue Station are on Level 4 of the mall. You can purchase tickets directly at the counters or the available self-service ticketing kiosks.

Take Note

Lane A and B are for standard MICE/Tours passengers.                                      

Lane C is the express priority lane.                                                                                           

Lane D is for passengers who purchase a ride on a glass-floor gondola.


3. Ticket Prices

Standard Gondola

Tickets for the standard gondola are priced at RM8 per person or 5GP for Genting Rewards Card members. Note that an express boarding pass can be purchased for RM40.

Glass-floor Gondola

Tickets for the glass-floor gondola are RM50 per person or 40GP for Genting Rewards Card members.


4. Boarding

Passengers are required to follow the instructions given by the ushers on duty. They board according to the capacity of the gondolas; 10 passengers for the standard gondola and six passengers for the glass-floor gondola.

The cable car passes through Chin Swee Station before arriving at SkyAvenue Station. However, to stop at Chin Swee Station while travelling from Awana Skyway Station, passengers need to get on the cable car at Level 2 of the Awana Bus Terminal located at the station.


5. Awana Transportation Hub

If you are travelling home by bus, you can proceed to the Awana Transportation Hub located at Level G of Awana Skyway Station where you can purchase your bus ticket. There are also signages to guide you along the way.
