Nothing equals a mother's love—and once every year, the world remembers to shine the limelight on this symbol of selfless love and sacrifice. At Resorts World Genting recently, the Mother's Day celebration focused on eight single mothers from Raub on the 14th May 2017.

The mothers, along with their children, were invited by the resort to enjoy the special occasion at SkyAvenue, the resort's brand new lifestyle mall that is creating a buzz with its unique attractions that include several international retail and F&B outlets not available elsewhere in the region.

The Mother's Day celebration at the mall included an exciting line-up of activities for shoppers—all of which the mothers, their children, and other invited guests had the opportunity to enjoy. The guest of honour was Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Senator Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun, who was welcomed by Katherine Chew, the resort's Vice President of Resort Communications and Public Relations.

Among the attractions the special guests at the event got to experience was  Awana Skyway, the resort's new state-of-the-art cable car system—a technological marvel with its 99 gondolas including 10 with glass floors that allow visitors a thrilling bird's eye view of the 130-million-year-old rainforest.

Accompanied by helpful GENM WeCare team volunteers, the mothers and their children were also treated to a lovely steamboat lunch at Resort Seafood Restaurant. Following that, they were taken to SnowWorld at First World Plaza where they enjoyed a bonding session as they took in the sights and sounds at the winter wonderland.

The exciting Mother's Day activities included a flash mob; shoppers were greeted by the amusing sight delivered by the MOB performers. Yes, these are people who perform seemingly random acts of dancing before dispersing—and what made the occasion special this time round was that a mother was randomly picked from the crowd to participate in the dance. Even Datin Paduka Chew decided to join in the fun.

The mothers also received gifts from the resort—hampers were presented to them by Datin Paduka Chew and Katherine Chew.
