Resorts World Genting was recently awarded at the Share/Guide Association Malaysia (SGAM) Annual Conference & ICT Awards 2015 for its E-Genting IT project titled “New Data Centre for Resorts World Genting”. The event was held in Port Dickson last November.
The purpose of the project was to promote business growth for Resorts World Genting and also address various challenges in terms of resources such as power and rack space. Such constraints will impede development and stop the data centre from expanding. The New Data Centre Project will be able to cope with up to 15 years of business growth.
The SGAM Conference was represented by E-Genting’s Assistant Manager of Data Centre Facilities, Jane Woo and Vice President of Enterprise System Infrastructure (ESI), Jimmy Wong. The data centre project was initiated and owned by Wong.
During the event, Woo shared the challenges, improvements and achievements they experienced with the data centre.
The data centre building was constructed from August 2012 to March 2014, managed and supervised by the Development and Construction team. It was ready to operate by January 2015 after obtaining a Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC) in December 2014.
