RESORTS World Genting launched its employee volunteer programme focused on the environment.
The Genting Green Generation (G3) Volunteer Programme was launched by Resorts World deputy chief operating officer Paul Baker at Awana Hotel in Genting Highlands.
He unveiled the G3 logo and led a team of RWG department heads in a tree-planting ceremony.
The trees were later relocated to the resort’s own Awana BioPark where the employee volunteers from across the resort will be responsible for taking care and nurturing the trees until they mature.
It is curated and led by the Genting Malaysia Bhd’s Sustainability Team under the Corporate Relations and Communications Department.
The programme is part of the G3 Platform which aims to promote environmental protection, look after the employees and customers and contribute towards the socio-economic growth of the local community.
It encourages employees to champion environmental causes within the resort, create awareness among employees and guests on environmental issues while inspiring them to commit towards environmental protection and conservation.
Baker said the launch paved the way for various environmental-based activities for RWG employees in 2018.
“This programme will not only create awareness on the need to preserve the environment, but foster greater camaraderie.
“Each one of us can contribute in whatever little way in helping our resort to be more sustainable for both our guests and employees”.
The pioneer group in the programme comprises 600 RWG employees who will be participating in environmental-based activities within and outside the resort.
