It is endless celebrations at Resorts World Genting this new Year of the Monkey, and so far all the traditional figures symbolising Chinese New Year have made their presence felt! From Monkey God to Choy San Yeh to the ubiquitous lion dance, it is action aplenty at the resort. And, yes, Old Master Q and his friends are part of the merriment, spreading laughter and cheer wherever they go.
At 8am on the 2nd day of Chinese New Year, Resorts World Genting's very own Choy San Yeh (God of Prosperity) went around the resort to help usher in the new year, and so did the Monkey God along with some fairies. But Chinese New Year is not complete without lion dance performances—and sure enough, some of the best lion dance performers in the country were there at the resort to deliver the expected sights and sounds to liven up the occasion.
Meet and greet by Resorts World Genting Choy San Yeh (Prosperity God) and fairies.A lion dance performance was held at the lobby of Genting Grand in the afternoon. Eight ‘lions’ from the award-winning Kun Seng Keng Lions Troupe from Muar, Johor provided the festive backdrop to Choy San Yeh, Monkey God and the lovely fairies as they mingled with hundreds of guests. It was a spectacle to behold as the two ‘lions’ executed their awe-inspiring acrobatic moves, jumping seemingly effortlessly from pole to pole. More lion dance action is in store at Resorts World Genting. Guests can c,atch the Hong Teck Lion Dance troupe as they perform daily around the resort until Chap Goh Meh on 22 February.
